While sitting outside of a convenience store a few years ago.  I watched a man walk into a local 7-11 with his child while wearing a backpack.  It wasn’t long before they came out and I never saw him go to the register.  The Lord put it on my heart that he had stolen to feed his child.  It made me cry. I knew in my heart I needed to do something to help. The LORD put in my heart stop looking for the church and just be the church”.

This is why we started a cafe to feed the homeless and motel families in the Route 1 Corridor.  We provide hot meals, free groceries  and clothes to anyone needing help.   At the beginning of each school year we provide book bags with supplies.  At Christmas we supply toys, new coats and new pajamas for over 200 children, so they are not waking up to a Christmas without anything to play with. Each Spring we do a family day with easter baskets bounce houses and other events for the entire family. We began in 2012 out of my husband’s truck till we got our first building to operate out of in 2014.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit

Local Motels

Our nightly dinners are Tuesday – Friday

It takes Volunteers

We love and cherish our volunteers.   Without them we could not possibly do what we do today.   They help unload food, sort it and then distribute it to our guests.   They cook meals, deliver bags of groceries to the local motels and even clean up after our meals and programs.
Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

Those who Cook

You cannot have a cafe without cooks.  We have been blessed with the best cooks in this area.  They seem to go the extra mile to make sure that a little love gets sprinkled in each meal.  They do this week in and week out without complaining or asking for anything as this is a service they provide from the heart.

Food distribution

Each week we receive enough food to provide food for families and elderly to over 700 individuals. These people all live in the Rt 1 Corridor in local motels, tents in the woods, abandoned houses and other places of shelter.  They can come here each Friday and take food back to eat during the week and get a hot meal before they go.

Clothes cottage

These clothes and items are donated by local churches, families and individuals.  We in turn provide them always free of charge, to those in need.

backpacks

Each year we collect and distribute backpacks loaded with school supplies to kids who are without and in need. We have helped over 200+ children get to school with the necessary supplies so they can get a proper education.  We are praying to increase this program in the future.
